Harry Potter:
Potter is a young wizard who's parents were killed by Voldemort when he was a baby. Voldemort tried to kill Harry as well, but failed and left him with a lightning bolt scar on his forehead. This event left Voldemort in a very weak state, and almost killed him. Potter goes to a school called Hogwarts and learns how to use spells to attack and defend himself. His 6 years there helped him in a big fight he gets into with Voldemort in the last movie. Harry Potter also made 2 good friends his first year of school, named Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. They stuck with him through his good times and bad and were his best friends, until the end.
Jesus Christ:
Jesus was born in a barn with his parents, Mary and Joseph. When Jesus was just 2 years old, King Herod had every first born child killed because he knew that Jesus was going to be powerful and didn't want him to be a threat when he was older. Mary and Joseph fled to Egypt after being warned by God in a dream that Jesus was in danger. Jesus preformed miracles all through his life and had 12 disciples that helped support him through his life. When Jesus was 33 years old, he was arrested and sentenced to be crucified (hung on the cross) for no reason at all. He died, but then rose 3 days later. He stayed another 40 days, preaching and teaching, and then ascended to Heaven.

Parallels:
There are dozens of connections you can make with Potter and Christ. They range all the way from them both having brown hair to them both being killed and then resurrecting. Harry is often called 'The Chosen One' in the series and that is the same with Jesus. Also, when Harry first arrived at Hogwarts, everyone knew about him. Some didn't like him, while others admired him. This also happened with Jesus. Everyone knew that a powerful man would be coming to save them all, and when some made the connection that it was Jesus, they loved him. Others still hated him and wanted him dead because they didn't believe that he was truly the 'Chosen One'. Another connection between the 2 is the fact that they are constantly tempted. In the later movies when Voldemort is powerful again, he always tries to tell Harry to kill either him or another person. This is his way of trying to corrupt Harry and turn him against his good intentions. Also, Satan tries to tempt Jesus when he is at a weak point in his life. The devil promises him his own kingdom and anything he wants, if he only puts God to the test. Jesus doesn't fall for this though because he knows the devil is only trying to trick him. Another thing, which I briefly mentioned earlier, was the fact that both Jesus and Harry were killed and then reborn. Harry sacrificed himself so that no more of his friends or classmates would be killed and Jesus sacrificed himself so that he could save all people from their sins. Harry also acts as a teacher throughout all of the movies and helps to train his friends so that they can defend themselves against Voldemort. Jesus is also a teacher to hundreds of people and preaches about how to avoid the devil and live for God. These are just a few of the major similarities that can be made between Harry Potter and Jesus Christ.
